Meeting and Events

By Amanda Gourgue, CMP

On Thursday, July 12th, the Odyssey set sail under cerulean blue skies with a total of 163 passengers from MPI/New England, HSMAI New England, IAEE New England, and ISES New England.

It was a perfect night be sailing Boston Harbor! There was a great selection of food everything from pasta salads to fresh sliced fruit. There were even chocolate covered strawberries waiting for the passengers when they departed the boat. Entertainment Specialists provided a wide selection of music. On the bottom deck of the Odyssey, there was a solo guitarist which creating a mellow, serene mood. The middle deck featured a DJ who rocked the best of the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. In perfect keeping with the terrific summer weather, passengers on the top deck were entertained by a steel drum band. Another big hit of the evening were the two fantastic caricature artists on the bottom deck. For most of the night there was a long line of attendees waiting for their turn and a lot of laughs surrounding these artists. The caricaturists were sponsored by Fun Enterprises.

There were some fantastic items donated for the silent auction! In total we had over 25 high end packages. There was some great excitement over the prizes. People actually hovered over the package they were bidding on. It almost came to fist fights over some prizes. In the end, there were some great bargains to be had!

Overall it was a great evening!
