With another year in the books, it was time to celebrate our achievements and get to know our incoming president and board with a fabulous reception and dinner at a gorgeous venue. Held at the iconic John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum, we feted the beginning of a new year full of unlimited possibilities and innovative ideas. Situated right on the bay with a stunning sunset as the backdrop, the Museum provided an elegant location for our annual meeting with a style reminiscent of the Kennedys themselves. Co-chairs Kim Kurk and Terry Mulryan-Toomey did an amazing job creating a truly memorable event!
After the festivities were underway and everyone was seated for dinner in the splendid grand hall of the Stephen E. Smith center, the night began by thanking our outgoing Board members for their commitment and dedication to the Chapter and wishing them well on their new endeavors. Past President Mark Bice then took the stage to induct the new Board of Directors to the membership and what role each would take in the coming year ahead. After vows were read and accepted by both the new Board and the membership, it was official and commemorated by photos with both the outgoing and incoming members sharing the stage one final time.
After getting to know a little more about new President Richard Carroll, he shared his vision for the future of the Chapter: Maintain, Sustain, Grow. Emphasizing that we have a healthy membership, committed Board of Directors and a vibrant Chapter, he feels we have a strong foundation for future growth and opportunities. If we sustain these fundamentals and continue to provide premier educational and networking events to our membership, we will attract a diverse range of industry professionals and foster the development of new knowledge and experiences. This will in turn lead to more expansion and help the chapter evolve within a changing industry and culture. According to Richard, the key to this evolution will be innovation and education and the November Educational Institute will be the flagship for the Chapter and the focus of his term as President.
We also celebrated the successes of our exceptional volunteers with an awards ceremony at the end of the evening. With so many incredible achievements in the past year, it was difficult to choose just a handful of members to receive this special recognition.
Immediate past president, Susie Prue thanked everyone for their contributions and expressed her gratitude to all the volunteers for their efforts during her presidency. Five awards were handed out and the recipients were as follows:
Kathy Keegan Cummings Professional Development Award Kim Kurk
Tomorrow’s Leader Katrina Holmstedt
Chapter Leader of the Year Anne Celeste Anders
Meeting Professional of the Year Meghan Kelleher, CMP, HMCC
President’s Award Mark Bice, CMP
Special thanks were given to the sponsors for this spectacular event: The John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum, Future Affairs Productions, Gourmet Caterers, David Fox Photography, Wollaston Wines & Spirits, Reservoir Wines & Spirits, Terry Hanley Audio Systems, Light Magic Entertainment Photography and Next Level Productions.
