Many meeting planners are being pushed to incorporate “Greening” into their meetings.
It’s important to be prepared to meet minimum sustainable standards.
First, determine what being sustainable means to the meeting organizer. Once that has been determined provide suggestions that will complement their vision. Areas to consider: minimize waste by using biodegradable products, reduce paper waste by eliminating print materials and substituting electronic options, involve the attendees in a recycling project, involve facility management during the planning process, donate surplus food, request natural lighted meeting space, offer a carbon omission offset program.
A full house filled the State Street Pavilion at Fenway Park for the program. Guests took in sweeping views of the field and the MPI and ISES logos were shown on center field scoreboard. The reception was held in the luxurious EMC Club where attendees enjoyed a visit from Wally the Green Monster and his sister Tessie. The World Series Trophies were on display. Guests could also take in Fenway Farms and talk with panelist Jessie Banhazl, in her home setting.
The menu featured all the Fenway favorites like lobster rolls and mini Fenway Franks. Fenway Farms produce included a seasonal brochette duo, crudités, penne primavera, and garnishes for the sangria.
