Using a Personal Styles Assessment (based on C.G.
Jung’s Theory of Psychological Types), members will

identify their own primary style of communication.
We’ll look at the strengths and potential limitations
associated with each style, as well as discuss ways
to work effectively with those with different styles
than our own. This insightful and high-energy session
is sure to engage and educate, as well as create
an interesting topic of discussion for the remainder

MPI Haiti Relief -
|

As a professional community, we are rallying to help the aid effort. After announcing the list of confirmed legitimate relief efforts on the MPI blog, Engage, our community has posted many activities that chapters, members and their organizations are involved in to help the people of Haiti.
Additionally, I am pleased to report that the MPI Foundation has made a $5,000 contribution to the International Red Cross on the behalf of all of our members and the industry. Please continue to spread the word about the helpful information found on the Engage blog and encourage your members to add new listings of legitimate relief efforts. It will be frequently updated with additional information to keep our member community properly informed. Finally, we continue to see many chapters conduct special events for Haiti and encourage others to do the same. | |
New MPI programs to support members - Here are some other programs to supporting our members and helping them in the current economic situation:
- The new Career Connections offers our community and the industry a Web site for employment connections. Plus, we have made it free for employer members and job seeking members to use. MPI members also get a 15-day sneak peak at new jobs posted to the site. Members can post resumes and search available jobs in their area or globally. It also has an advanced job alert system. Members are also encouraged to post their open positions at a significant discount from that of non-members. Internships for our student community are also available.
- A discussion group has been created to help members share tips and resources for managing your career in an economic downturn. The Career Connections GroupSpace page on MPIWeb.org enables our members to learn share and support each other through online networking.
- Now the career movements of our global community can be tracked through the Careers in Motion blog on MPIWeb.org. Follow your community connections and track emerging opportunities through the success of others members across the globe.
- To help our members who have been unfortunately impacted by unemployment, MPI is offering a free six-month extension at renewal. After that, if the member is still unemployed, an additional six months of membership are available for only $99. This allows members to take full advantage of MPI networking opportunities and all of its other resources during a time when it is most needed. The new Career Connections is also available to members in employment transition to assist in landing a new position within our industry.
- We realize many of our members are having to make tough financial decisions. We do not the cost of the membership to stand in the way of retaining MPI membership. We have several programs to help. Members can pay their renewal fees in four small installments. Just call our Member Care Center, listed below for more details.
- A new program for “Students-in-Transition” from graduation to establishing their career path has been launched. Keeping the connection to the MPI community is very important post-graduates during this transition period that offers over 50% in savings over the regular membership rate in the first three years of starting your career after graduation.
If you have any questions please call our Member Care Team at 972-702-3053.
